Mandolin 1 Repertoire

$202 ($192 members) · 80 minutes · Weekly for 8 weeks

The mandolin has found a home in many styles of music: bluegrass, swing, jazz, old time, classical, folk and rock. Because of its small scale and violin-like tuning, the mandolin is perfect for learning fiddle tunes and melodies. Guitarists will find that mandolin rhythm skills complement their existing technique.

Continue learning fundamental techniques like fingering, down and up pick strokes, basic open chords, and more complicated rhythm parts.

Take Mandolin 1 Repertoire if you have had experience with a stringed instrument and you are comfortable learning simple melodies by ear and with tablature.

Prerequisites

Mandolin 1 or competent up and down strokes with a pick or 1 year of another stringed instrument.
