As an innovative and constantly inventive jazz pianist, Brad Mehldau has attracted a sizable following over the years, one that has grown to expect a singular, intense experience from his performances. At Chicago Humanities, Mehldau delivers an intimate solo performance followed by a conversation with veteran jazz critic Nate Chinen at Old Town School of Folk Music. Together they explore Mehldau's extraordinary career and distinctive approach to his instrument as well as the acclaimed artist's personal story as chronicled in the recent memoir Formation: Building a Personal Canon, Part 1.
