Join this teen string ensemble today! This 16 week class is designed to develop a string band of youth already familiar with their instruments. Open to teens betwen 13-18, this class will focus on the experience of group music making. With an emphasis on American and World Folk music, this class will explore many styles and genres while the students make firm bonds not only with their instruments but with their peers. Songs will be taught both by ear and through note reading. This is the ideal class for the teen wanting to explore the world of group music making. Emphasis will be placed on dynamics, rhythm and tempo, blending, soloing and supporting when others solo.
Open to viola, violin, fiddle, cello, guitar, and piano. Students who play instruments not listed, please contact iwilson@oldtownschool.org for consideration.
