Tom Ewing will be hosting a bluegrass rhythm guitar workshop, discussing and demonstrating the basics of playing the instrument that is the backbone of bluegrass music. The class will also work together on a Bill Monroe song to be played with all of the other workshop participants at the close of the sessions.
Tom served as one of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys from 1986 to 1996. He edited The Bill Monroe Reader for the University of Illinois Press and is currently writing a biography of the Father of Bluegrass Music.
