Mandolinists and fiddlers discover the world of rhythm that your instrument offers. Learn how to make that percussive "chop" sound on the back-beat, or lay down an even pad of sound that fills the whole measure. Use shuffle patterns to add some funk to your rhythm parts, or use open strings to bring a lighter touch to quieter passages. Round out your rhythm skills, learn how to become your own drummer, and open up the possibilities to play in many different musical settings.
The class will use the following techniques to develop rhythm parts to songs and instrumental tunes: open chords, closed chords, long draws, shuffles, chopping, filling, or padding.
