Rock, Pop, Folk, Country

Classically Trained in Voice, Fingerpicking

Josh is a songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist with a love for music in many styles. Their approach to voice teaching puts the student’s experiences and sensations front and center as the most important guide to healthy singing. Having trained in classical technique and repertoire in college, they have since specialized into rock/pop/country/folk styles and love helping to find a student’s unique voice in whatever genre(s) they want to explore. They also teach songwriting, audio engineering, beginning guitar with a specialty in fingerpicking styles, and beginning bass.

Josh holds a BA in Music from Carleton College, where they studied vocal performance and composition. They currently perform original folk music under the moniker Measuring Marigolds, indie rock with their band Better Odds, and play bass for other local bands.
