Kelsey Georgesen is a versatile musician and teacher. With experience teaching private lessons and group classes, Kelsey is enthusiastic to teach a variety of styles. Her musical upbringing was inspired by blues and boogie woogie but guided through a foundation of classical learning. She will cater your learning experience to match your interests and will help you to grow in your understanding of music no matter the style, be it blues, folk, classical, or anything in between.
Kelsey is an esteemed music educator, with her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Ball State University and four years of experience teaching within Chicago Public Schools. She has presented for both the Illinois and Indiana Music Educators Associations, as well as the Chicago Citywide Arts Teacher Conference. She has a rich background of studying a variety of cultural music, including traditions from the Navajo Nation, West Africa, and Jamaica. In her free time, Kelsey plays roots music with friends, writes songs about her experience in the world, and looks for ways to be outdoors hiking and climbing.
