David Jennings

Jazz Ensemble

David Jennings, born and raised in the Chicagoland area, is a composer, arranger, drummer, clinician and teacher. He has more than 30 years of experience playing drums and percussion in various ensembles of jazz, Latin, rock, world, classical, fusion and big band styles. David is currently the leader, composer and drummer of the David Jennings Acoustic Ensemble. The DJAE performs at festivals and clubs throughout the midwest. The ensemble also is for hire to teach clinics at colleges, high schools and middle schools. In 2006 the DJAE realesed their debut CD of David's original compositions entitled "Eternity". David also continues to play freelance gigs. David also teaches Music Theory III and IV, Percussion, Fundementals of Music, and Intro to Music at the College of Lake County, Illinois.

Education: David has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory from Depaul University in Chicago and he earned his Master of Arts degree in Computer/Electronic Music Pedagogy from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.
