Get Together at Old Town School!

Whether you have two hours or two months to spend with us, you’re invited to be part of a vibrant community filled with people from all walks of life to make music, dance and the arts part of their lives every day. You belong here no matter what you like, what you already know or what you want to do! Many of our jams and showcases are free of charge and open to the public.

Summer Camp 2024

Get ready to rock this summer with Old Town School Summer Camp, an unforgettable adventure for 6-11 year old creative kiddos. Join our 2-week day camps in June or July.

The Second Half

Our free daily jam. A tradition from the early days of Old Town School, gather together with other core guitar students after class for a jam led by teachers featuring songs from the songbook and pop classics. Location and times change depending on the day of the week and is free of charge.

Student Showcases

Most classes in our catalog end the session with a performance onsite at the school or offsite at some of Chicago’s finest venues, bars, restaurants and community centers. It’s a chance for students and ensembles of all skills and types to show off what they’ve been working on.

Bringing the joy and power of the arts to over 2,500 school children each year through programs like Artists-In-Residence, Wiggleworms-In-Residence and Guitars For Growth. Your support through classes and concerts help provide quality arts education for Chicagoland students of all ages.

Teen Open Mic

An open mic just for teenagers, Ages 13-19. Join a supportive and fun atmosphere to celebrate everyone’s contributions and welcome new performers to the community. All are welcome, whether you’re a singer-songwriter, spoken work artist, vocalist or a full-fledged band, we’d love to have you on stage!

Hire Our Artists

Our artist engagement services offers a wide array of entertainment for any occasion by talented, professional artists. Everything from soloists to 11-piece bands, we can help take your event to the next level and help support the school at the same time!

Resource Center

Housed in the basement of our Lincoln Avenue campus, the Resource Center holds a collection of over 25,000 commercial and archival recordings, videos, books, photos, documents and periodicals.
