Brash, unpolished, and thoroughly DIY, punk music rose up in the mid-1970s in the UK and US as a reaction against mainstream music and the political status quo. Since then, it's spawned numerous sub-genres and been the soundtrack for youthful rebellion in cities and scenes throughout the world. In this class, we'll look at acoustified versions of classic and contemporary punk songs from the Ramones and The Clash to Green Day and Bikini Kill. Improve your rhythmic chops, explore moveable chord shapes, get loud and have fun. No drummer or distortion pedal? No problem!
This class is geared towards acoustic instruments but is open to all instruments and vocalists. Guitarists should have some experience with bar chords and/or power chords (Guitar 3 or equivalent).
