It has been 45 years since the tragic loss of an extraordinary singer/songwriter/guitarist Jim Croce at age 30, but he left an indelible mark in the music world with his colorful blues shuffle infused character songs and his exquisitely beautiful ballads.
In this workshop we will focus on two of his ballads, I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song and New York’s Not My Home, and we will examine the Calypso fingerstyle pattern that he uses in these two songs and which became a defining characteristic of his fingerstyle guitar technique.
