Musicology: Live from the Old Town School

A brand new, live concert, "World Music" television program filmed and produced entirely in Chicago.

The Old Town School of Folk Music and WYCC (Channel 20), a Chicago television PBS affiliate, have teamed up for an exciting new partnership to produce the first live concert World Music program of its kind entitled Musicology: Live from the Old Town School of Folk Music. This unique and unprecedented music series is designed to bring culturally and musically significant artists and genres from around the world to U.S. audiences. Each episode will feature one artist or group and will include approximately 45 minutes of live concert footage interspersed with 10 minutes of pertinent back story that will include interviews conducted on site in Chicago.

The 13 artists that have been selected for the inaugural season represent an extraordinary cross section of artists from across the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, the Pacific Islands, Asia, and the Middle East. From traditional to modern, each of these artists have a unique and compelling story to tell.

Musicology: Live from the Old Town School of Folk Music airs Fridays on WYCC at 9:00 PM (CST) immediately following Austin City Limits.
