Kind of like a blue-eyed soulful urban cowboy with a cool record collection, Steve Dawson takes it all in then breathes it out in his effortless songs. You can hear his melodic style and subtle hooks that he has been working on in Chicago for years with his group Dolly Varden, on his recent critically acclaimed solo album, and in the Songwriting class he teaches here at Old Town. Known home and abroad, Steve has a devoted following both in the U.S. and the U.K. earning him praises in Rolling Stone, Mojo, and the Village Voice.
