Special Music by Special People

Special Music by Special People is a Chicago Park District music program for people with developmental disabilities.
Kicking off this year’s Folk & Roots is our favorite opening act, Special Music By Special People! S.M.S.P. allows children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to record, compose, and perform their own music. Through this process, skills such as verbal, mnemonic, musical, and social are nurtured in an atmosphere emphasizing self-esteem, teamwork, accomplishment, and fun. Be sure to come out early and welcome them back!
