The James Hand Band
Saturday, July 8th at 4:45pm on the Main Stage

“Like some stray radio signal from the Grand Ole Opry of a half-century ago beaming back from the cosmos, James Hand's latest is the epitome of gutbucket, heartworn country music.” – Texas Music Reviews

Secret treasure. Who doesn’t dream of finding it? For almost 40 years James Hand has been writing and performing his brand of powerful and original classic country -- from Honky Tonk to Western Swing and then some. It is only recently that this treasure of American music has been uncovered and brought to the surface from the depths of countless smoky dives and dancehalls. While all the earmarks of the classic country architects, Hank, Lefty, and Ernest, are there, James Hand burns his own brand right on the hind quarters of it.

“In over 30 years of playing country music, I have never, absolutely never seen anyone as unique as James Hand. There is no one like this artist – complex, yet simple. Simply, James Hand is country music, and he has no equivalent.” –Country Music Hall Of Fame

Heck. Don’t take our word for it. Don’t take the Country Music Hall of Fame’s word for it. Listen to what ol’ Uncle Willy himself has to say about Mr. Hand:

“Folks, like I said before and it’s STILL true, James Hand is the real deal!”
–Willie Nelson
