The Zincs
Sunday, July 10th at 3:20PM on the Main Stage

The Zincs' chief share-holder is singer and songwriter Jim Elkington. A London ex-pat who now calls Chicago home, Elkington's songwriting is deeply rooted in the arcane folk and pop musics of his native land as well as his adopted home. One side of The Zincs favors finger picked guitars and wry, literate storytelling harkening the pastoral British folk-jazz sound of the 1960's and '70's with the lyricism of Leonard Cohen. The Zincs flipside weighs in with guitarist Nathaniel Braddock's chiming and tempered Telecaster taking the band from Canterbury to late '70's New York. Uptight and spiky. The rhythm section of Jason Toth (drums) and Nick Macri (bass) are along for the ride to support the song. All in, they are The Zincs.
