Fiddle 1 Rep with Maria, 8/2/11

Hi!

In both classes we learned Old Joe Clark and Cluck Old Hen this last week.

Next week is graduation! The Monday class has decided to do Liza Jane and we’ll decide on Thursday what we’ll do for that class.

This Thursday is the last Thursday Open Jam for the session. Come on out before class between 7-8:30pm to jam on your tunes with other folks.

It’s been a really fun session so far, thank you!

Maria :)

Fiddle 1 Rep (July 18, 2011)

Hi friends!

We’re getting a pretty good group of tunes in a repertoire!

In both classes, we’re working on Black Eyed Susie (Key of D in the Kids’ Section of Tune Archive) and Cripple Creek (Key of A -Adult Section of Tune Archive.)

We worked on Dink’s Song today out of the Old Town School Songbook and we’re start Somewhere Over the Rainbow this Thursday in the Key of C.

Other tunes we’ve learned or reviewed:

Shortnin’ Bread (Key of D)
Angeline the Baker (Key of D)
Liza Jane (Key of A)
Koputus Polkka (Key of Am) – some folk know it
Oh Susannah (Key of D)

Other tunes we’ll get to before the end of the session:

Old Joe Clark ( A modal – Kids’ Section of Tune Archive)
Cluck Old Hen (A modal – Kids’ Section of Tune Archive)

Have a good week, maybe I’ll see you at a jam!

Maria :)
