The Global Dance Party series offers an exciting opportunity to experiment with dance styles from around the globe. Each evening will feature a dance class followed by two hours of music from live bands or DJs in our Myron R. Szold Music & Dance Hall.
Chicago Samba, live Brazilian music and dance, is a Midwest-based music ensemble, offering the authentic sounds of Brazil mixed with the flavor of carnaval. They play a unique mix of Brazilian popular music styles, including: Samba, Bossa Nova, Brazilian Jazz, Chorinho, among others. The Batucada, an exciting, all-percussive jam session that brings any audience to its feet to dance along with the group – is just like carnaval in Rio de Janeiro.
