Talented folks are all around us. Join the Old Town School for a new creative concert series highlighting emerging artists from within the School and around our city. Once a month we feature a number of artists in an interactive, intimate setting at our historic 909 W. Armitage location.

    Shantira Jackson

Shantira Jackson is excited to be performing with this amazing group of artists! She is a graduate of The Florida State University, Go Noles!, and she is currently a member of The Second City's National Touring Company, Go RedCo! She is an inaugural Bob Curry Fellow and has trained at The Second City, iO Chicago, The Annoyance and Comedy Sportz. She can be seen performing at The Second City's AfroFuturism or at iO Chicago as a member of 3Peat!. Much love to her wonderfully supportive family and friends.

    Miah Luz

Miah Luz is a singer-songwriter from the piano-balladry tradition. They have acted in the past as a church pipe organist, classical symphony piano soloist, ballet accompanist, film score composer, studio session musician, and performance artist, and now focus on creating queer optimistic doom & gloom, composing from the crossroads of the mundane with the sacred and the profane.

    Wes Perry

Wes Perry was recently named one of Paper Magazine's 10 Comedians You Need to Know. He uses his background in improvisation and sketch comedy to create original solo pieces that blend storytelling and music in a way that's unique, honest, and absurd. Wes is the host of the monthly variety show Making Out with Wes Perry and Friends. Making Out originally ran at the Upstairs Gallery in Andersonville, where it broke box office and attendance records. Making Out is currently running every third Wednesday of the month at Flat Iron Comedy in Wicker Park.

    Vanessa Vincent

Born and raised on Chicago's South Side, Vanessa Vincent is a singer-songwriter whose experience speaks a language all it's own.

Playing piano since age three then later acquiring her voice by singing along with her favorite cassette tapes, it was apparent to Vanessa that music was the way that she could truthfully express herself. Heavily influenced by love, the human condition, and shared experiences, Vanessa's soulful voice and flowing melodies take the listener to places of intimate sonic exploration coupled by stories of a joyous, yet recovering broken heart.

    Saint Rodriguez

Residing in the cozy neighborhood of Pilsen, Saint is a Chicago-based singer/song-writer with an obsession surrounding the human voice. They have been a regular at the teen open mics at the Old Town School of Folk Music since 2014 and regularly perform a cappella. Saint has been described by their peers as "eccentric" and "passionate" and has a tendency to be dramatic with vocals. Some of their biggest influences include Björk, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, and Sia.

    Nymph Marvel

“The Madame of the Harem of Oddities and the reigning Pervesk Champion. The woods crawl deep inside this creature…Nymphy Marvel”
