  • Blind Boys of Alabama

The Blind Boys make their long awaited return to the Old Town School in support of I'll Find A Way, their latest album produced by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver (which features amazing collaborations with artists such as Patty Griffin, tUnE-yArDs, My Brightest Diamond and Sam Amidon). The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. Celebrated by The Grammys and The National Endowment for the Arts with Lifetime Achievement Awards, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, sung for two presidents in the White House and winners of five Grammy Awards, they have attained the highest levels of achievement in a career that spans over 70 years and shows no signs of diminishing. Longevity and major awards aside, The Blind Boys have earned praise for their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by acclaimed songwriters such as Curtis Mayfield, Ben Harper, Eric Clapton, Prince, and Tom Waits.

    My Brightest Diamond

As impressive as her list of recent collaborators, Shara Worden's voice and arresting live performances have left audiences thunderstruck from the Sydney Opera House to Lincoln Center to the House of Blues. She's performed under the experimental-pop moniker My Brightest Diamond for the last seven years, and counts Bryce Dessner (The National), Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), David Byrne, Laurie Anderson and The Decemberists among friends and fans. They are just a few of the many who've fallen in love with Worden's mystical voice and mythic storytelling. In addition to opening for the Blind Boys of Alabama, she will be joining them onstage for a song or two in their set as well.
