Upcoming Concerts

The Dance Extravaganza is an annual celebration of dance and movement and the Old Town School faculty members who teach and perform this moving art in its many styles and genres. This year, the 7th annual show, will feature performances of Bhangra/Bollywood and contemporary dance influenced by those forms, Psychedelic Go-Go - group dancing to pop tunes, a Modern dance set to contemporary folk/pop by Jonas Friddle and the Majority, Tap dances by a local troupe ranging in age from 8 to 80 as well as improvisational rhythm tap, Flamenco Sevillanas to live guitar accompaniment, Ancient Hawaiian Chanting, Hula, and a "Backyard" Hula piece presented by Kupa'a Pacific Island Resources, Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Irish Step dance, Brazilian contemporary dance and Samba to a recording of Brazilian artist Paulinho Garcia as well as to live batucada led by Geraldo de Oliveira, Mexican Folkloric Dance, and a special appearance by the Old Town School Jazzettes - a youth jazz dance performance group.

Participating Dance Faculty members include: Rene Cardoza, Lyn Cole, Dill Costa, Jen Guglielmi, Shamila Khetarpal, Lanialoha Lee, Reggio McLaughlin, Erika Ochoa, Clare Orr, Tina Stasny, Maya Tatiana, and Cheryl Ziemba.
