Join distinguished Kathak dance and Hindustani vocal artist Ms. Tanushree Sarkar for an evening of exquisite north Indian classical dance form and unique vocal performance. She will be joined by Pt. Naren Budhadkar on tabla.
Kathak is an exquisite North Indian classical dance form, similar to western ballet, tap, and flamenco along with the aesthetics of Indian classical music. Tanushree wears almost five hundred brass bells on both of her ankles and dances creating intricate patterns of footwork along with various kinds of spins and other movements.
Hindustani vocal classical music is an invaluable asset to our human minds in this digital era. It calms the brain/sharpens our memory cells,making us patient and helping us stay focused. Music enhances life. Hindustani classical music helps reinforce and add colors to life's journey with the ultimate destination being peace.
The tabla is a classical indian set of drums. Pt. Naren Budhadkar is an accomplished tabla maestro who is constantly traveling all over the world. He is a disciple of the tabla legend, Ustad Dawed of Hyderabad, India.
