The Old Town School of Folk Music and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs present this concert as part of this year's Chicago World Music Festival.
Deolinda is not your typical Portuguese fado band. Inspired by the tradition of Portugal's famous lamentful fado songs, Deolinda breathes new life and lightheartedness into the genre by combining classic fado elements with popular music. They respectfully challenge this age-old tradition not only musically, but also with lyrics filled of witty anecdotes and quirky snapshots of life in Lisbon.
