Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Unidos do Quilombo, known as Unidos do Quilombo, was founded in April 2008 in the spirit of the samba schools that parade in Brazil's Carnaval celebrations. Unidos do Quilombo is led by bateria mestre Felipe Fraga.

Bêabá do Samba is a Chicago-based band specializing in the sounds of Brazil. Playing a diverse repertoire of traditional samba, pagode and bossa nova, the group is composed of some of Chicago's finest samba and jazz musicians.

Felipe Fraga will give a Brazilian Percussion workshop as part of the Thursday Workshop Series on July 1st..
