Michael Miles is one of America's most inventive banjo players. He started at the Old Town School as a teacher in 1979, served as program director from 1984 to 1998, and most recently has been honored as the school's artist-in-residence. Tonight's performance was commissioned by the Old Town School and "America 1957" is the culmination of the residency. It celebrates the year we launched our home, the Old Town School of Folk Music.
