Alejandro Escovedo has been hailed as a poet, as a storyteller, and as one of the most important musicians of the last quarter-century. He blends rock, folk, blues and classically influenced music into a boundary-defying style that has won him a devoted following all over the world.
Since the early '90s, Alejandro Escovedo's solo albums have quietly cast him as an artist of note. He's come a long way since his bands Rank And File and True Believers, which both looked at roots-rock music in new ways yet only achieved cult status. Slowly but surely, Escovedo is getting his due.

Lucinda Williams heaps praise on fellow songwriter Carrie Rodriguez. "She's got something unique in her voice that's very subtle and a little smoky and sweet... I detect a certain wisdom in her, and yet a sense of wonder as well."
