They all traveled to Recife in Northeastern Brazil and immersed themselves in these musical styles recording their widely acclaimed “Maracatuniversal” in collaboration with Nacão Estrela Brilhante. They have seamlessly melded these styles with the rhythms of the southern United States effortlessly swinging from gritty New Orleans funk to the huge sound of Brazilian bateria.
