The West Indian Folk Dance Company was founded and directed by Old Town School dance instructor Alfred Baker. Baker, a native of Jamaica, founded the WIFDC to reveal the historical and cultural significance of Afro-Caribbean folk characters and traditions. Experience the primitive and present-day Maroon society and culture through lively performances of the ancient African custom of hand drumming, folk singing traditional and contemporary dance.
