The evening begins with A Flor de Piel founded in April 2007 by two-time Grammy nominated multi-instrumentalist Renato Ceron, and teacher and musician Marisol Ceron. A Flor de Piel music is rooted in the Mexican Fandango but additionally draws from the diverse musical heritage of Latin America and the U.S. Araguaney, the national tree of Venezuela, is the name chosen by these talented newcomers on the Chicago scene. The group explores various genres from across Venezuela and Colombia, including Joropo, bambuco, waltz, merengue Caraqueño, Danza Zuliana and more.
