Faculty & StaffShelley Miller
Guitar, Songwriting Shelley Miller has been playing guitar since 1996, and has been teaching since 2002. An award-winning songwriter active in the Midwest folk scene, Shelley teaches beginning/intermediate rock, folk, pop and country. She works with students to design individualized lessons around their goals and interests—using songs her students know (and like!) to teach chords, strumming patterns, fingerpicking, basic music theory and songwriting/performance skills. Her patience and positive attitude make her an ideal teacher for beginners, for adults returning to music after a long absence, or for students looking to try their hand at songwriting or performing.
