Violin | Kids Group Classes

Fiddle and Violin: The Old Town School of Folk Music is proud to introduce a Fiddle Program for kids and teens! This new fiddle program pulls on the ideas from our former violin program and faculty and expands its breadth of experience. The primary focus of the program will be on group instruction, however, with team taught classes your child will receive individual attention within the group experience.; Private lessons are not required in the fiddle program, but it is an experience that is heavily encouraged to enhance and expand your child's musical experience. For more information on private lessons click here.; The program is designed for young children to teens, beginner to advanced. All of the class levels may be repeated until your child is ready to move on to another level. The beginning classes incorporate classic, traditional fiddle tunes from around the world. In the upper level classes, students will continue to expand their repertoire with popular songs from the past and present, including folk, rock and other styles. Classical and jazz traditions are also offered in the upper level Violin classes.; Take a look at some footage from last weekends Youth Fiddle Contest. We're so proud!

Open Jam: Saturdays; Noon to 1:00 p.m.
909 W. Armitage; Students of all levels can come together and share in the fun of making music in a larger group setting. Led by Old Town School faculty, this will surely provide your child with an opportunity to work with a variety of teachers and musical styles for violin. Best of all it is completely free!

Join Us: Broaden your child's musical experience, join us for one of these weekly events.; Wednesdays: 12pm-2pm, Skip Landt's Noon Day Tunes Concert Hall Stage @ Lincoln. All ages welcome. Come sing and play and eat lunch with us!; Thursdays: 7-10:30pm, Open Jam on the Concert Hall Stage @ Lincoln. Come before class, come after class, come even if you don't have class, it's rockin'!; Saturdays: 12-1pm @ Armitage. Open Jam, all ages and instruments welcome. It's fun, come share your tunes with us!
