Sharon Krome Camp Bio

Teaching: Filmmaking

Pronoun preference: she/her

Originally from small-town Maryland, Sharon has lived, worked, and studied across Europe, including graffiti-smattered Berlin. Most recently, Sharon completed her MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage at Northwestern University. There, she discovered her passion for teaching while leading her introduction to screenwriting workshops. Predominantly a screenwriter with a more indie sensibility, her work (from plays to TV pilots) commonly features coming-of-age stories with a healthy dose of social criticism, musical elements, and dark humor. Here in the Windy City, she has worked as a production assistant/AD for one of Chicago's leading production companies, Big Shoulders, where she assisted on projects from House Hunters to the Chicago Cubs. When not writing, you may find her directing/editing, cycling by the lake, or painting abstract impressionistic pieces (aka fancy paint splatters).
