Join vocalist and educator Kavita Shah for this special workshop before her World Music Wednesday performance! Kavita has been singing Brazilian music for over 15 years. Fluent in Portuguese, she conducted ethnomusicology research in Salvador, Bahia, and regularly collaborates with Brazilian musicians like pianist Philippe Baden Powell (son of guitar legend Baden Powell), guitarist Nelson Veras, and percussionist Rogério Boccato. This workshop will cover the basics of singing Brazilian music, including rhythms, pronunciation, and repertoire ideas.
