In this workshop, we’ll examine the fingerpicking folk-blues styles of legendary blues rocker Jorma Kaukonen. From the earliest acid-rock of Jefferson Airplane through the influential/ trendsetting power trio Hot Tuna and into the 21st century, Jorma’s sound always has at it’s heart, traditional ragtime/blues. We’ll focus on his original tunes that have become a standard part of the “American Fingerstyle” guitar repertoire including Embryonic Journey and Genesis. Anticipating Kaukonen’s upcoming show the Old Town School’s very own Paul Kaye serves up insights into the master’s unique style.
