Dancing Around the World - What Moves Chicago?

Join Nejla Yatkin for a Chicago workshop intensive to explore both intimately and broadly the interaction of people, movement, and the environment through dance, video, and sound.

The more you have experienced your being in different ways and the more engaged you are with what you experience, the more you have to share with the participant viewer and yourself. Your palette as a mover is rife with possibilities. In this workshop we will explore what moves people and how people in Chicago move. We will create awareness through guided improvisation exercises to experience individual movement qualities, sensations, and dynamics as well as to create an understanding of how you relate with other bodies in space and time. Additionally we will create phrases to share with each other. Selected participants will also have the possibility to perform it in various selected sites in the city at the end of the workshop.

Workshop is open to all levels. Musicians are invited to join us to explore the relationship between music and movement.
