Ever get stumped writing a song? You have a great verse or chorus, but you don't know where to go next? Do your ideas seem to sound like other songs? Do you want to start writing songs, but don't know where to begin? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop is for you! By learning about such concepts as phrasing, creating balance and imbalance, and how harmony works, you can shake what ails you and find your own voice! All instruments and skill levels are welcome in this workshop, but participants should know some major and minor chords. Instructor Brandon Seyferth is an experienced and respected songwriter. Among many other accomplishments, he was once invited on stage at the Steel Bridge Songfest by Jackson Browne and Pat MacDonald (Timbuk3) to make up a song with them on the spot in front of thousands of people.
