This is the third in a 3 part Workshop series: Eric Noden's In the Style of.
Join Eric as he explores the styles of 3 acoustic blues masters through his own material. This time Eric explores the Style of Dr. Ross. Dr. Ross played a raw Mississippi blues guitar style that is sometimes described as a Mississippi Boogie. Eric will use the song "Waterfall"(from "Missed Train Blues") to demonstrate Ross's approach. Eric will break down the rhythmic nuances and techniques that create the Mississippi one chord boogie. Using open D tuning and driving thumb patterns students will dig deep into this hypnotic style. Then Eric will demonstrate how to add some slide techniques and vocals to fill out the sound.
