Core Guitar Program
The backbone of the Old Town School experience since its inception in 1957, our Guitar 1-4 classes provide solid musical background using traditional and popular styles in a friendly casual group environment.
Core guitar classes meet once a week for 80 minutes (then join all the other classes in the concert hall for the Second Half).
There are class options every day of the week - one is sure to fit your schedule.

Songs of the Session
We choose two songs every session for all classes to use. So, no matter what the instrument, technique or genre we can play together!

Musicianship Curriculum
A series of classes for players at our Guitar 2 Repertoire level who want to solidify their musical skills and take their playing to the next level. We suggest starting with Guitar Fingerboard Theory. Trust us, spend a year or more going through these classes and you’ll come out a new player.

Ensemble Classes
There's no "i" in band - the best way to become a better player is to play nice with others. Join in with other instruments in one of our many ensemble classes - check the individual class descriptions for skill prerequisites.

Guitar Study Hall
FREE! A weekly hour-long question and answer session with our long time guitar guru, Steve Levitt. Come in with a question or issue you're having with your guitar playing - walk away a better player! Steve is here Mondays for levels 1-2 Rep and Wednesdays for levels 3 and beyond. Come on by with questions and issues and walk away a better player!
