Open to everyone, Old Town School’s NEW Gamelan program is a great introduction to the sounds of Indonesia.
New for 2012, this Indonesian percussion ensemble class will introduce the basics of central Javanese gamelan instruments and performance. Students will play on an authentic set of Javanese instruments housed at the Old Town School in generous collaboration with Friends of the Gamelan. It will bring new rhythms and forms to experienced musicians and is a great introduction to percussion and ensemble playing for those new to music.
