Why do we carry the brands that we do?

Quite simply, we want to offer you the best. This may sound too simplistic, but please read on. There are many, many choices in which brands we could carry. There are many brands out there that are the "cheapest" or have great aesthetics, but not the greatest tone or reliability. We are offered special deals on instruments all the time. So it has to pass the Strummer test!

While we stock each brand we carry at several price levels, we always offer instruments that are good values. And that means good value for the price, and good value compared to its peers--a guitar, for example, that you might pick up and say "wow, what a great guitar," followed by "and that's a great price!" Instruments that fit this description are not only easier to sell, but easier to own. We want you to have a great instrument that will last for many years no matter what you pay for it. So when you ask us if that $150 guitar is really any good, we will confidently reply that in fact all of our instruments are good, or we wouldn't be carrying them.

We also pride ourselves on our service after you buy your instrument. And of course, many of our customers are students here at the Old Town School of Folk Music, so we see you all the time. We want you to have a quality instrument! There is nothing we enjoy more than having happy customers stop by with a favorite instrument they bought from us years ago.
